Mission Statement

The Dads Club DFW was founded with the vision of a school-based group of concerned fathers joining together to increase fathers’ involvement in their child’s education and life, in general.

The organization’s goals are to increase father participation in the school, promote paternal bonding with one’s children, and create a network of involved and active fathers in the schools and community.

Fathers are a traditionally underutilized resource in education that bring a wealth of experience, skills, and diverse interests into the classroom. In this era of absent fathers we need to identify strong, positive male role models in our communities to guide our children and emphasize the importance of education.

The Dads Club DFW offers fathers (grandfathers, uncles, brothers, ministers, coaches, etc.) an easy way to make a positive and profound difference in their child’s life.

Be A PROUD Father, Make A Difference

Parent involvement in the schools has been shown to be a critical factor in children’s academic success. Traditionally, "parent involvement" always implied Moms volunteering in the schools, but thanks to the new wave of Proud Dads joining the fray, that is evolving. The U.S. Dept. of Education in 1997 confirmed a direct correlation between students academic performance and the level of the father’s involvement. Fewer behavioral problems were also added benefits.More validation came from other recent study concluding that unique benefits are accrued by families and the school communities dotted by fathers high visibility in their children’s schooling."Fathers helping in the schools clearly benefit their child, their family, their community and themselves. With so many benefits, how do we get more fathers involved in the schools? The need for visible, reliable male role models in our communities are immense, and would be more forthcoming as more and more fathers overcome the inhibitions, realize they’re welcome to partake, that it is actually “cool” to actively parent a child, and that the predominance of females in that arena was not conspired to remain permanent. PTA Moms do actually welcome the change. The deterioration of world societies are most evident in its Youth demographic, and conversely when a society is to sustain a permanent change, it must factor it’s future generation – our children. The escalating violence today bears testimony to that, and I agree with Emil B "Emil" and her insight on the Columbine Shootings as “The Good Son” Author Michael Gurian explained the role of the fathers amid such impasse.Dads Club DFW thrives on being a strong supportive arm of the PTA, and as a founder, I am a Texas PTA Life Member as well as member on the National PTA Chapter.

The FutureSince 2005, partnering with Verizon Foundation, we have made several non-profit organization (501(c)(3) monetary grants to support the Las Colinas Elementary School. We have also propagated 2 more satellite schools with their chapter of the DADS CLUB. We have no monetary needs, and have mainly operated with funding from the local PTA beneficiary to the projects we do. No mandatory marketing – just simply trying to involve more Dads in active involvement and membership participation. For as long as we represent a winning fit for all (fathers, kids, schools, and communities) we deem our entity successful.
